How the Location Agreement indicator works
The main IP Intelligence Report can compare two independent data sources when advanced intelligence is available. The indicator measures agreement between providers; it does not measure the probability that a device is physically located at the displayed coordinates.
Weighting used in the current implementation
Country agreement receives the highest weight.
State, province or regional agreement receives the next weight.
City agreement is useful but treated more cautiously.
If both providers supply a field, matching values earn that field's weight. Fields not supplied by both providers are removed from the available-weight denominator. The resulting percentage is labelled High at 85–100%, Moderate at 55–84%, and Low below 55%.
Coordinate-gap calculation
When both sources return latitude and longitude, IP-Lookup.com calculates the great-circle distance between the two reported coordinate pairs. A small gap means the provider coordinates are close to one another. It still does not prove that the user or device is at either point.
How security classifications are presented
VPN, proxy, Tor, hosting, malicious-activity and risk signals come from the configured advanced-intelligence provider. We present these as third-party classifications and, where available, show the provider's explanation or categories instead of treating a single score as unquestionable fact.
Registration and ownership data
IP and ASN registration lookups use RDAP. RDAP data describes registered network resources and organizations. Registration data should not be interpreted as the identity of the individual using a particular IP address.
Privacy principle
IP-Lookup.com does not create a searchable history database of the IP addresses visitors look up. Some requests are made directly from the browser to data providers; server-side tools process a query transiently.
