What this lab measures
This live lab compares the current location values returned by the configured core and advanced IP data providers for the same IP address. It reports field agreement and coordinate distance. It is useful for understanding provider consistency.
How to read the result
Country agreement is generally more meaningful than city agreement because city-level IP mapping is more sensitive to ISP routing, gateways and provider methodology. If providers disagree on city but agree on country, the sensible interpretation is that the country result is more consistent than the city result—not that either city is certainly correct.
Our research roadmap
The research hub is designed to publish reproducible tests rather than invented accuracy percentages. Future benchmark datasets should document sampling, network types, geography, date collected, ground-truth method and provider versions so results can be evaluated and repeated.
Use the methodology
If you reference an IP-Lookup.com comparison externally, describe the metric as provider agreement. Do not describe it as GPS accuracy or a probability of a person's location.
